My baby crawled around in a playpen while I worked 12-hour days cleaning the floors, and removing wallpaper. Ha! All was beginning to fall into place, but there was still a long way to go. This was going take the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience for furniture to decorate this home. In order to stay within budget, I began going with my boys to estate sales looking for of diamonds. The weekly ritual was that we would stroll through estate sales and garage sales on Thursdays and Saturdays buying a mixture of antique and brand new furniture. My next task was to spend the rest of my time painting and sanding on our front lawn. My love for furniture repair began when I saw a style that was similar to this. After our home was finished, I didn't want to quit! I rented a booth in the market at my local location and also sold items there. Eventually, I had too lots of pieces to keep in the available space. Over 1000 people visited my home over the course of a weekend to buy everything on the ground floor. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. The business I was running was growing and my family was also growing. Finding the balance was important for me. I wished to be a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days seemed like the ideal combination. Nora came into our lives in 2013 and became our fourth baby. This was a fantastic direction for my business however, I needed a vacation. I got away from furniture that was vintage to enjoy some quality time with my family. It was just what I wanted. After a few minutes I began to hear my phone to ring. They wanted assistance with interior decorating as well as renovations. The majority of people who contacted me were people who had visited my home at one of the furniture open houses. Then I slowly took on more clients, in my own way. Then I was able to have many clients, and had an enterprise of renovations to homes. You would probably have amused me if you had said that it would be the foundation of a DIY Network tv series. In fact, I do amused when I think of it.
