Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was only six years old. First competing in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. And in 1970, was crowned champion. At her first international event in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974, she was an the all-around junior champion. She won four gold and one silver in her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as an adult. The first female to do the reverse double salo of the bar with a parallel surface after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in entertainment as a teenager in which she was a part of the figure skating duo of the twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, at Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. As a young girl she was an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
